White Bean and Basil Hummus

Ingredients
- 1 (15-oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15-oz) can white beans, drained and rinsed (recommended: Great Northern)
- 1½ tablespoons tahini (sesame paste)
- 5 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for serving
- ½ cup fresh basil leaves, loosely packed
- 3 cloves garlic
- Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Combine the chickpeas, white beans, tahini, water, lemon juice, olive oil, basil, and garlic in a food processor.
- Blend until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Taste and season with sea salt and black pepper, then blend briefly again to incorporate.
- Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
- Texture adjustment: For a thinner consistency, add water 1 tablespoon at a time until desired texture is reached.
